BASE CHAKRA.

Archetype: Mother Earth.

It’s located at the base of the spine, as well as at the base of the oldest mountains in the world. This level represents our roots, our foundation, our body and our survival. Its name is Muladhara, and literally means Root, in the same way that Africa is the root of our humanity. And this is the downward path through which we enter the Earth element that is associated with the first chakra.

This chakra is related to the right to have. The right to “be here." This is manifested in the right to receive what is necessary for survival. When the basic survival needs are denied (food, health, human warmth, clothing, etc.) the right to have is being threatened. As a result, this right is used to be questioned. Likewise, the African continent is in these times and almost from its beginning, tested on these rights; that’s the reason why, no matter the efforts made from the social level, it never improves as society, because its deepest energetic needs are not satisfied.
The consciousness of a newborn (we can here speak about humans) focuses primarily on the survival instinct, food, warmth, comfort and the feeling of being well received set the stage for a first chakra healthy and well fulfilled, without blocking. This chakra involves making contact with the earth; establish a good sense of the essential, fulfilling survival needs and body care or in this case of the world. When this chakra is blocked these tasks are difficult and hard to complete, but if the energy flows well through it, these tasks are basic routines.

This chakra represents matter in its most dense and heavy form, and its guiding principle is gravity. The matter of this first chakra exists in its most solid and concrete variety. Healing of blockages and traumas of this chakra involves a return to the inner child. The feeling of security is what creates a strong first chakra. The work of this chakra focuses on the physical body, starting with conscious awareness. And healing our body, such as exercising, diet, relaxation, etc.., is the beginning of the healing of the rest of the chakras.
It is therefore important to recognize the strength and importance of Africa’s societies, lands and races, for its healing and contention involves the support of all mankind. The first chakra is blocked which is not sufficiently trained to provide support and strength to the person’s needs. As an example, an energy deficiency can cause: not to accept the own physical body, never end what one undertakes, inability to concentrate, addiction to work and saving. And too much energy can cause problems such as fear of change, obsession with possessions, physical overweight, material desires, and attachment to safety. A blockage in this chakra, both by defect or excess, produces seemingly different or contradictory situations that are merely reactions to an imbalance. And we know that everything in defect or excess is bad, and we must seek and find a balance in everything. To heal this chakra, we must become aware; we must ground, reconnect with our ancestral roots, forgive and heal our inner child, and recognize the strength of the first race of Humans.
